Project Description
The City of Pittsburg in coordination with the Contra Costa County and East Bay Regional Park District is planning to develop a series of access and safety improvements to the Delta De Anza Trail within the Pittsburg City limits and Bay Point. The following improvements may be implemented on the trail:
- Rectangular rapid flashing beacons
- Wayfinding signage
- Trail safety lighting
- Green bike lane markings
- Raised crosswalks
- High-visibility crosswalks
- Bulb-outs
- Pedestrian refuge islands
- Landscaping enhancements
Project Area
This project will develop improvements on approximately 8.5 miles of the Delta de Anza Trail: 4 miles in Bay Point just past Mariners Cove Drive to the west and 4.5 miles of the trail in Pittsburg to just past Gladstone Drive to the east.

What Would We Like to Hear From You
The City of Pittsburg is looking for community feedback on the following:
- Current Uses– How do you currently use the trail and where do you usually go when using it?
- Gaps – What concerns do you have regarding the current state of the trail? Where is the trail falling short of your expectations, both along the trail and at street crossings?
- Opportunities – What types of improvements would you like to see prioritized along the trail and at street crossings?
This information will help inform the development of the final concepts that will address previously identified concerns and improve access, connectivity, and safety along the trail.
