The Building Division oversees the entire construction permitting process, including public information, plan submittal, review, permit issuance, inspections, and records management. We ensure compliance with all local and state codes and coordinate with other departments and outside agencies before a permit is issued or final inspection is approved.

The Engineering Division manages City-led construction projects and ensures private development meets Pittsburg’s standards. We handle traffic safety reviews, stormwater compliance, encroachment permits, and more. Permit types include:

🏘️ Residential Rental Inspection Program

This mandatory program protects residents and neighborhoods by ensuring rental housing is properly maintained. All rental units must be registered unless exempted. The City performs inspections and offers a self-certification option for qualifying properties.
