To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:

• Be a Pittsburg resident or a dependent of a current City of Pittsburg employee (employee must belong to a Represented Employee Group). 
• Have been accepted into a bachelor's degree program with a declared major in a STEAM field. 
• Have a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. 
• Submit a Pittsburg Promise Community Scholarship application by the application deadline.

Graduate students are not eligible for this scholarship. This scholarship will not cover tuition fees that have already been paid. The funding must be applied to an upcoming semester, trimester, or unit of time.

Up to five scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $5,000 each annually.  Each year, at least one scholarship award will be reserved for a City of Pittsburg staff dependent, and the remaining will be open to eligible Pittsburg residents.

Additionally, recipients will be selected at a Community Advisory Commission (CAC) meeting in June or July annually.  CAC meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7pm in the City Council Chambers (3rd floor) of City Hall (65 Civic Avenue) in Pittsburg.

After selection by the CAC, All applicants will be notified of their award status in July at the email address provided in their application. 

Student identification with a course schedule, copy of class registration, or letter of registration (High School seniors may submit any documentation confirming their admission and declared major).
