How to Apply to Establish Food Truck Sales Within the City of Pittsburg

Does the City of Pittsburg Allow Food Trucks?

Pursuant to Pittsburg Municipal Code Section 18.08.160, a food truck is defined as a mobile food vendor. A mobile food vendor is classified as a temporary use and may be permitted to operate on private property if a Temporary Activity Permit (TAP) is approved.

A Temporary Activity Permit is valid for a maximum period of three (3) months. Upon expiration of the three-month period, applicants are required to submit a new permit application for continued operation.

Establishing and operating a food truck within the City of Pittsburg requires approval from both the City and applicable outside agencies.
