General Municipal Election - November 3, 2026

The City of Pittsburg General Municipal Election will be held on November 3, 2026, to fill three (3) seats on the City Council, as well as one (1) City Treasurer seat and one (1) City Clerk seat. Terms are for four (4) years.

Nomination Period: Pulling and Filing Papers for Candidacy

The nomination period for candidates opens on July 13, 2026 and runs through August 7, 2026 at 5 PM.

Per Elections Code §10407, should an eligible incumbent(s) not file nomination papers for their seat by Friday, August 7th, the nomination period will be extended until Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 at 5 PM. During this extension period, no incumbent is allowed to file nomination papers. If not more candidates than the number of elective offices is nominated, appointment to the elective offices may be made as prescribed by Elections Code §10229.

We will be scheduling appointments for candidates interested in running for office. To request an appointment, email election2026@pittsburgca.gov. Appointments will be conducted during the following hours:
