FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PITTSBURG, CA – Construction of the highly anticipated Dream Courts project has officially recommenced, marking a significant milestone in bringing the state-of-the-art indoor recreation facility and community space online and creating new economic opportunities for residents.
Once completed, the Dream Courts will provide one of the largest indoor recreational facilities in the Bay Area, promoting community engagement and supporting local businesses in the region. The restart of construction underscores the commitment of local leaders and stakeholders to foster growth and development within Pittsburg.
Pittsburg Mayor Jelani Killings expressed enthusiasm about the project's renewed progress. "We are thrilled to see the Dream Courts back on track. This is a development that will bring an invaluable amenity to our residents and support our goals around youth programming, sports tourism, and economic development. While the project has faced its share of challenges, seeing it move forward is a testament to the collaboration of the parties involved and our dedication to this community’s future," said Killings.
The Dream Courts, which is being built in partnership with Discovery Builders Inc., will provide nearly an acre of indoor court space that can host community events as well as regional tournaments, which Pittsburg officials hope will bring new visitors to the East Bay City, in turn supporting existing local businesses. Albert Seeno III, the owner and Chief Executive of Discovery Builders, Inc. commented, “Being born and raised in the City of Pittsburg, we could not be more proud to be building this project and to partner with the City. This will be a world class regional facility primarily serving our kids, both young and old. The City of Pittsburg deserves this. The region deserves this.”
The ongoing work will also utilize union labor. Tim Sbranti, Executive Director of the Contra Costa Building and Construction Trades Council, shared his excitement for the project, stating, "the ‘Dream Courts’ project is a win for everyone involved. It not only means new recreational space for the community, but also supports numerous local tradespeople. The Contra Costa Building and Construction Trades are thrilled to be involved in this project and ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality construction process."
The project is expected to be completed by the middle of next year. Once completed, the Dream Courts will be operated by The Ultimate Fieldhouse, which currently operates a similar facility in Walnut Creek.
